Thinking of moving to south devon?

hi myself and my hubby mark are thinking of moving from south yorkshire to south devon with our kiddies who are 14,9,4 but have been reading some reviews on different sites and some of them say that we would never fit in and that the locals would never speak to us or our kiddies although ive never found anyone who is ill mannered or ignorant when we have been down there, i was just looking for some advice we all love south devon and we have been visiting 3 to 4 times a year since having our kiddies i have been visiting since i was a baby we are both 34 and both work for the nhs but i don't want my kiddies feeling like an outcasts both at school and socially any advice would be helpful many many thanks kerry x
