Why is the California economy so bad right now?

Its because the legislature spends too much, and the recent bust in the mortgage/banking/housing industry. Many economists believe it won't improve until around 2014. Deporting illegals won't make much difference , there is already a decline in the number of illegals coming here because of the por economy.
