Do Atheists Meditate?

Ok, so I personally wouldn't call myself "atheist"- I'd say I'm a little more agnostic. Anyways, I was just wondering, do atheists meditate? Because I know a few atheists who say that they do- but why would they though? I always thought that meditating was kind of a "religious/spiritual" thing that Christians and Buddhists did to make them feel more "connected to God."? So, I don't mean to offend any atheists out there, but I would think that's kind of hypocritical for you guys to denounce that there is a God and then go on and do a "spiritual" practice like meditation.
