How many miles can a Vauxwhagon Golf do before dying out?

I have a 2001 model of the VW golf and it's got 121,500 miles to its name. I am a bit worried that it isn't going to last much longer. In fact, there's recently been a load of problems with it. About a month ago there was a problem with the battery but I got a new one fitted, the clutch is going and this week there is a leak somewhere that drains the engine coolant within about 4 hours. So my car is in the garage getting sorted out but it's doing my head in! I had wanted to get my own car once I ped my test but my aunt insists that I should keep on ploughing money into the car until it's reached the end of its useful life. But in my opinion, it has reached that point and it's more of a pain than it's worth! I have money and I would like to get a Renault Dynamique Sport 1.6 and sell the golf for �1500 before it dies. What do you think?
